Background: The Community Mobilization Program (CMP), supported by Social Marketing Company (SMC) and implemented by Shushilan, aims to strengthen community-level access to and utilization of family planning, reproductive, maternal, child and adolescent health information, products and services. A key priority of the program is the identification, enrolment and development of Gold Star Members (GSMs) as women entrepreneurs who can play an active role in community awareness, health information dissemination, product demand generation and service linkage.
This program is being implemented across seven unions—Amadi, Bagali, Moheshwaripur, Maharajpur, Koyra, Uttar Bedkashi and Dakshin Bedkashi of Koyra Upazila, Against this background, the inauguration of the new CMP office in Koyra on 23 August 2026 marked an important milestone for strengthening the program's field-level presence and initiating the GSM selection process.
Event Proceedings: In presence our honorable Chief Executive Mostafa Nuruzzaman of Shushilan, at the newly established CMP office in Koyra. In keeping with Shushilan's organizational culture, he was warmly welcomed by the Shushilan Koyra team with flowers and Chandan Tilok. Fruits were also offered to him while entering the office, creating a warm, respectful and culturally meaningful atmosphere.
The new CMP office was formally inaugurated by Mr. Mostafa Nuruzzaman through ribbon cutting, followed by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The simple but meaningful ceremony symbolized the beginning of a new journey for the CMP team in Koyra and reflected the spirit of hope, commitment and collective responsibility. The event note confirms the ribbon-cutting and lamp-lighting ceremony as part of the office inauguration.
Following the inauguration, an introductory and motivational session was held with women who had participated in the community mobilization process and those interested in becoming Gold Star Members (GSMs). The participants introduced themselves and shared their interest in becoming part of the GSM initiative.
During the session, the Chief Executive of Shushilan, Mr. Mostafa Nuruzzaman, delivered an encouraging and motivational message to the prospective GSMs. He encouraged the women to come forward, believe in their own potential and take an active role in their communities. His interaction helped create a positive and encouraging environment for the women who are considering taking responsibility as GSMs. He also said his dream about GSM like as here form a people's organization like "Shadikar" its a women platform they will create a business hub at each GSM house or her near market and they will grow self-dependence and empowerment, They will lead community in future.
The session was closely aligned with the CMP's focus on developing GSMs as successful women entrepreneurs and community-level actors. Under the program, GSM identification and enrolment is considered the highest-priority activity, with further emphasis on capacity development, community mobilization, interpersonal communication and service linkage.
After the motivational session, the oral interview for GSM selection was conducted with prospective candidates coming from the respective unions. The interview provided an opportunity for the program leadership and team to directly interact with the candidates and understand their interest and readiness to take on the responsibilities associated with GSMs. The completion of this process represented an important practical step toward establishing the GSM network for CMP implementation in Koyra.

Their presence and direct engagement with the prospective GSMs demonstrated the importance attached by Shushilan to the successful implementation of CMP and the development of capable women at community level.
Key Outcome and Significance: The event successfully combined the formal inauguration of the new CMP office with the practical initiation of the GSM selection process. It provided a valuable opportunity for the women to interact directly with senior organizational leadership, understand the importance of the GSM initiative and participate in the selection process.
The event also created a positive foundation for future community mobilization activities in Koyra. Through motivated GSMs, the program aims to strengthen community awareness and promote access to appropriate family planning and reproductive, maternal, child and adolescent health information, products and services.
Conclusion: The inauguration of the Koyra CMP office was more than a formal office-opening ceremony. It marked the beginning of a new phase of community engagement under the SMC-supported CMP, bringing together organizational leadership, the field team and women interested in becoming GSMs.
The warm welcome, ribbon cutting, lamp lighting, motivational interaction and oral interviews created a meaningful and encouraging start to the program's journey in Koyra. The event reflected Shushilan's organizational culture while keeping the focus firmly on women's participation, community engagement and sustainable health awareness.
New office as a local coordination point and motivated women being identified as prospective GSMs, the event established a strong foundation for the next steps of CMP implementation in Koyra upazila.
