A day-long training on Community Engagement, Interpersonal Communication, and Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) was organized by Shushilan, with support from UNICEF, at the Tazumuddin Upazila Parishad Meeting Room on 20 August 2025.

The event brought together 25 participants (Male-24, Female-1), including government officials, NGO representatives, matchmakers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders. The training was facilitated by Rekha Yesmin, Project Coordinator, Shushilan SBC Program Bhola, who conducted all sessions focusing on community engagement strategies, interpersonal communication skills, and ethical aspects of behaviour change.

The training emphasized the importance of interpersonal communication in addressing social challenges such as child marriage prevention, maternal and child health, and disaster response. Participants actively engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and group activities designed to connect theoretical knowledge with practical field realities.

The UNO of Tazumuddin highlighted the need to give special attention to the char (River Island) areas and appreciated Shushilan’s role in preventing child marriage, supporting pregnant mothers and disadvantaged children, and providing services during disasters.

AM Wahiduzzaman, newly appointed Project Coordinator of Shushilan SBC Bhola, assured continued collaboration with government and community stakeholders to reach vulnerable groups.

The program ended with participants thanking Shushilan and UNICEF for organizing the training and expressing hope for continued efforts to promote positive social and behavioural change in Tazumuddin.

Stakeholders recognized Shushilan’s contributions to community welfare and expressed optimism about continued partnership for sustainable social and behaviour change in Tazumuddin.
