From Towns to Remote Villages – Shushilan SBC Bhola Team Leads Awareness for TCV 2025

Posted on: September 23, 2025, 11:43 am

The nationwide Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) Campaign 2025 has officially begun, marking a vital step toward safeguarding children and adolescents from typhoid fever.

Since September 9, 2025, Shushilan’s Social and Behavior Change (SBC) team in Bhola, Supported and guided by UNICEF, has been playing a pivotal role in the campaign. Operating across all 7 upazilas of Bhola district, our committed staff are reaching both bustling towns and the most remote villages to ensure that no child is left unprotected.

Our Key Contributions

  • Awareness Building: Engaging parents, caregivers, and youth to spread knowledge about the importance of TCV.
  • Vaccine Mobilization: Encouraging timely vaccination for children and adolescents.
  • Equitable Access: Assisting with registration in hard-to-reach communities, making sure disadvantaged families are not excluded.

Why TCV Matters

Typhoid fever remains a serious public health concern in Bangladesh. The TCV is a life-saving vaccine that protects children aged 9 months to 15 years, helping to prevent illness and reduce avoidable deaths. By ensuring wide coverage, this campaign builds the foundation for lifelong protection and a healthier future for the next generation.

Beyond Vaccination: A Movement for Inclusion

This campaign goes far beyond immunization, it is about community participation, inclusiveness, and safeguarding children’s rights to health. Shushilan’s efforts, in collaboration with UNICEF and government partners, demonstrate the power of collective action in creating a typhoid-free Bangladesh where no child is left behind.
